On Mac OS Monterey (12.6.2):
"Checking for updates failed" (both DE and en_US version, both with JRE):
"Check your network connection, verify that your proxy settings are configured correctly, or try again later."
While internet works for everything else (Browers, etc). Switching VPN on and off didn't change anything.

How can I fix this?

Product Version: ThinkingRock 3.7.0
Java: 1.8.0; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b70
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0-b132
System: Mac OS X version 10.16 running on x86_64; UTF-8; en_US (trgtd)
User directory: /Users/xyz/.thinkingrock/tr-3.7
Cache directory: /Users/xyz/.thinkingrock/tr-3.7/var/cache

Update:
"Unable to connect to the ThinkingRock 3.7 Update Center because of Received fatal alert: handshake_failure" (when I go to "Plugins" and click update there)

Update2:
The version without JRE works (with using self-installed java). So there is a problem with the version with JRE.

Did you also fix it?

I recently updated my java, still the same problem (for years now).
I also used a portableapps.com java version for some time.
But no difference. Actually other stuff didn't work with that...

What is a self installed java?
I tried with one from portableapps.com but no succes.

And what is JRE? Is that a part of regular java?
