I know that most of us who are at the computer all day long, and are approaching or are at middle age and beyond, can no longer see without super maginified reading/computer glasses. (Yes, you younger developers will discover this someday too and probably sooner than you expect because you are at the computer all day long!) Also, many of us don't have the benefit of a 46" mega computer monitor to help us out either.

I just got your program and I love it except that I find that I find the actions screen hard to read. It would be great if I could change the font size and be able to view actions with alternating row colors. Or at least, it would be helpful if the rows actually had lines between them so that I can distinguish between the actions. i did not see that there were any preferences available in the set-up to help my waning eyesight even with my special computer reading glasses and a 19" wide monitor.

I am using Windows XP and ThinkingRock v3.03

C:/Program Files/TR-3.0.3/etc/tr.conf

Change fontsize. Default is 13.

Close TR.

Find the file. Open the file. Change 3-th line:

default_options="--branding tr --fontsize 13 --laf javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel

Number 13 change to 14 or 15 or 16 or 17, ...

Save the file tr.conf

Open TR.

Thats all.

Windows XP - Change TR 3.4 screen font size

Substituting -> for back-slash in Windows path; your system's path may differ

Config file name is trgtd.conf

Close TR before starting

Location: C:->Program Files->trgtd->etc->trgtd.conf

Open trgtd.conf with Notepad so the lines wrap to screen

Looke for --fontsize with a number after it (2nd-to-last line on my system)

The number is the size of the font

I changed mine from 11 to 16

Restart TR to see if the screen font works for you

Hope this helps our aging baby-boomer eyes so we can keep using Thinking Rock --

TR 3.7 trgtd.conf does not show a fontsize parameter anymore, but our eyes keep getting older. Found an old fontsize fix, saw where it was located in the .conf file, and copied it into my own .conf file. Then I changed the fontsize to help my aging eyes, one of which is blind.
The fontsize parameter disappeared some time after my old fix in V 3.4. You can just add it back.

Here is my .conf file:

default_userdir="${HOME}/.thinkingrock/tr-3.7"

default_options="--locale en:UK --branding trgtd --fontsize 22 -J-client -J-Xss4m -J-Xms64m -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -J-Dsun.java2d.dpiaware=true -J-Dsun.zip.disableMemoryMapping=true"
