Installation

The new reports will appear as new modules when ThinkingRock checks for updates or if you manually check for updates under the Tool/Plugins menu option.

If you have firewall issues when downloading the new reports, you can download a zip file from here. Download and unzip, then in ThinkingRock add an update center (Tools, Modules, Settings tab) and set the URL to the updates.xml file. Example of URL for file on PC: 'file:/c:/Thinkingrock/beta/updates.xml'. Please note the forward slash. If there is a space in your path, replace the space by %20.

Once you are happy with the new reports, you can uninstall the old reports:

• go under Tools/plugins/Installed;
• order the modules by Category and check the ThinkingRock Reports. There should be 6 modules;
• then press the Uninstall button.

Please note that once uninstalled them, you CANNOT re-install them.

Description of the changes

The reports have been re-written using Jasper Reports. We have added all new fields introduced in version 2.0:

• for actions: successful outcome, criteria (priority, energy, time), start date and due date;
• for projects: due date, priority and notes.

Please find below a comparison between the old reports and the new reports:

• Actions by Context: replaced by "Actions: Do ASAP" report. You can order by a criterion within context;
• Actions by Date: has been split into 2 reports, "Actions: Delegated" and "Actions: Scheduled";
• Next Actions: replaced by "Weekly Review" report. You can also run this report for the next day;
• PocketMod: not replaced but the number of pages available for each section has increased and the sections are slightly different to take into account that Do ASAP actions can now have a due date and inactive actions a start date. A section for New Thoughts with more spacing and a section for unprocessed thoughts have been added. You can also run this report for the next day;
• Project Details: can only be run for a specific project;
• Project Outline (all or current): selection between all or current is now done through a parameter.

The following reports have been added:

• Actions: Done. Please note that this report takes some time to run (a few minutes);
• Future Projects;
• Single Actions;
• list of projects and sub-projects only through the Project Outline report, with parameter "Include Actions?" unchecked;
• Reference;
• Someday/Maybe.

The reports are produced using JasperReports and can be saved in many formats, including PDF. All reports use the DejaVu serif font. This font and its size cannot be changed.

All reports can be found under the Reports menu, expect for the "Action Detail" and "Project Detail" reports. The Project Outline, Project Detail and Action Detail reports can be run from the popup menu (using the right mouse button or control-key and mouse click) on any project or action in the project tree views.
